Most little girls spend their childhood wearing angelic sundresses, performing in dance recitals and playing with dolls. I, on the other hand, spent my childhood wearing grass-stained jeans, watching ESPN and acting as the 12th man on my dad’s football team.
My name is Erin Orsini, and I am a senior public relations major at Kent State University. As a daughter of two coaches, it comes as no surprise that I’m also pursuing a minor in sports administration. My dad has coached high school football my entire life and continues to build an elite program at Archbishop Hoban High School. (Go Knights!) My mom coached girls’ basketball for 20 years before hanging up her whistle.
My mornings are usually spent listening to ESPN’s Mike and Mike in the Morning talk show, where I gain insight about sports through the show’s discussions and quarrels. I love having an open mind because it allows me to think outside the box, which is the why I love public relations. I am always eager to test new waters and take on challenges. Sports has taught me those very lessons.
Even though I’ve grown out of my grass-stained jeans and my ways of bossing football players around, sports still play a major role in my life. I am my brother and sister’s biggest fan. Whether they’re playing football or volleyball, I am cheering them on.
Aside from sports, I love spending time with my family. They are my world! There’s no doubt we’ll have a good time when we’re together.

EO is all grown up. I spent many years yelling “GO EO” from the rafters in the Castle. Erin’s willingness to help others and ability to remain calm in tough situations help to make her a leader on and off the court.
